Logistics
Berlin is easy to navigate with a mix of fast transit, cycling, and walkable streets. Public transport is reliable and well connected.
U-Bahn, S-Bahn, buses, and trams: Use BVG services. A single trip or day ticket is affordable and can be bought at machines, apps, or kiosks. The BVG app is convenient for planning routes and real-time updates.
Tickets: Validate on boarding where required. Consider a day pass if you’ll travel often in a day.

Voltage
Electricity in through Germany is supplied a 230 Volts 50 Hz system. Germany uses the Europlug (CEE 7/16), which is used in most other European countries. Visitors from the following European countries will have to use an adapter: Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Denmark. Visitors from outside Europe will also need an adapter to use their electrical appliances in Germany.
Language
The official language of the Conference is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
Weather
Weather in Germany in September: typically mild with gradually cooler days as autumn approaches. Expect average daytime temperatures around 15–23°C (59–73°F), with some warmer spells and occasional rain showers. Pack a light jacket and an umbrella for variable conditions. Overall, pleasant for outdoor activities and conference events, but be prepared for fluctuating weather.
Food Allergies
If you have any questions about the food served at the conference, please contact the staff at the buffet tables, they will be able to advise you regarding the food and any particular requirements you may have. Labels will also be provided for some food categories, for example vegetarian.

Smoking Policies
The Technische Universität Berlin is a non-smoking area. Smoking is only allowed outside in front of the main entrance of the venue.
